Clean facilities. Wifi didn't work everywhere, not unusual for CPs. Don't think I've ever stayed at one where it works where we have to park the van on pitch the tent. Jumping pillow was popular for kids. Pool and amenities clean

A very quiet place to stay for either a one night stop over or spend 2 or 3 nights. It is a long way off the pacific highway. The staff are friendly and helpful, we were allocated near the boom gate entrance and we asked could we go down into the middle of the mark and staff were happy for us to do that as they were not full as long as we respected the areas they were trying to refurbish. The amenities were very clean (we only used the newer block). There is a good fenced in play ground; a swimming pool with a separate water feature pool with a little slide etc for young children and a larger pool; a full tennis court and beach volley ball & jumping pillow. It has a lovely camp kitchen with seating that looks out over the bush area towards the river. There is also quite a lengthy jetty that goes out over the river which opens up to a large estuary. It is lovely to watch the sun set from the jetty - although watch your step on the jetty. There is also a board walk that goes through mangroves. The powered sites are both a good length and wide. There are picnic tables throughout the park and also a sheltered picnic area. There is lots of bird life. They are currently refurbishing some of the grass sites area. We highly recommend it if you want something quiet, we will definitely be back. The town is small but has a good size IGA, a butcher, bakery, chemist & fish and chips shop and a large information centre with arts and crafts.

There were also too few toilet/showers for the lower area of the park.

What a lovely clean park and for the most part an enjoyable experience.

The problem though, was the key pad into the amenities. It was definitely not user friendly at all. Not only did I need to try multiple times before accessing the bathroom facilities, I had to assist others as well. I feel that there should be instructions for use above the keypad.

Set in a quiet little town, this park is well maintained and has lots of facilities/activities to keep the family entertained. The town has everything you need and is close by to the attractions around Port Stephens and the Hunter Valley wineries. This is great spot for a getaway and will keep you as busy or relaxed as you like.
